We'll Be Ok 04:49
Look how my garden blossoms underneath this shady tree delicate spectacles they're budding to impress their queen tending to the details, intricately my precision for your plead could it be that I am lacking sense of your abilities My petals wait to unfold, concealed are secrets but when they open up, unveiled my forfeits I'll finish the work subdued, and I'm able to see right through, and it's safe to say, we're all afraid, cause nothing stays the same What is our next move along these piles of proof floating around, and around I'm casting complications out into the tranquil seas watching them scatter softly drifting steady then they sink, when the skies are stirring it's my signal that I've caught your lease, then rains pour down and wash away the resolutions I've tried to keep I'll finish the work subdued, and I'm able to see right through, and it's safe to say that we're all afraid I'll finish the work subdued, and I'm able to see right through, and it's safe to say we'll be okay, but nothing stays the same, nothing stays the same

I'm under the influence of my elation and weighed down by comfort warming the night I've caught you like a fever the illness travels on to mend my heartaches it's breaking down this wall and shaking me free at last I'm free, you've lit the dark and hollowed space between my shaded dreams The more I rely on someone to give my affection the more I can feel it's taking me in it's too late to turn back I'll stick to where I'm headed and it's by your side I'll follow on because it's shaking me free at last I'm free, you've lit the dark and hollowed space between my shaded dreams I'll stick to where I'm headed and it's by your side, I'll follow on because you already have led me far away from that dismal place behind that old wall, it's fallen down and shaking me free at last I'm free, you've lit the dark and hollowed space between my shaded dreams this old wall is falling down, falling down, I'll follow on with speed this old wall is falling down, falling down, I'll follow on with speed

the candles lit upon this cake are failing to oblige these wishes that we often make dissolve until they die this poor me state of mind does no one good it's cases much like this that I despise Don't thank me, it should be you that's taking my gratitude it's getting easier to admit when I'm wrong Once lonely I couldn't recognize my apathetic tune it drowned out the peaceful tones of white, to shades of somber hues but that was the old me, I've been revived the pulling of this stubborn will of mine Don't thank me, it should be you that's taking my gratitude it's getting easier to admit when I'm wrong

Give up to what's not improving those hand that take and deliver with all the finished remains you have sold me it's gone, the taste of my glory and now replaced by my hunger, withering down by your unsought intrusion when my needs aren't fulfilled by keeping... the force in me to a steady lull silencing me, as I'm gaining on the portions you leave feed my ill devotion, take your best shot at freeing a force that loves the thrill This part I hate when we're choosing by chance less fate and I'm losing vision of how to surpass this endeavor so now the stakes are much higher because involved are desires and our behaviors conclude the illusion of clean release, when it's bringing... the force in me to a steady lull silencing me, as I'm gaining on the portions you leave feed my ill devotion, take your best shot at freeing a force that loves the thrill the past is set by strategic moves that are best for the present, and now the rest proves my humbled defense summons inside... the force in me to a steady lull silencing me, as I'm gaining on the portions you leave feed my ill devotion, take your best shot at freeing a force that loves the thrill

Try 03:54
I remember everything you said the echoes in my head won't die I believed every word was true I was as worthless as I lie save your petty excuse, I was only a child too so go ahead and try to break my bones with all your sticks and stones, they'll never hurt me and all your clever names and funny games won't leave me bleeding and helpless anymore I tried to make sense out of your hate your heart was darker than my skin my eyes became the butt of every joke to you and all your friends I thought you'd grown up by now but you're the same old playground bully so go ahead and try to break my bones with all your sticks and stones, they'll never hurt me and all your clever names and funny games won't leave me bleeding and helpless anymore you can't control how I see myself you are forever trapped and I am free so go ahead and try to break my bones with all your sticks and stones, they'll never hurt me and all your clever names and funny games won't leave me bleeding and helpless anymore I remember everything you said it was as worthless as a lie you have no excuses anymore why did I even try

BIO

While no two of Nicole Howe’s songs sound alike, there is also no hint of “trying on” genres merely for variety or novelty’s sake. Coming relatively late to songwriting, there seems to have been a stylistic soup gradually bubbling up in the cauldron of Howe’s subconscious since the time her ears first heard sound. Absorbing bits and pieces of the varied musical idioms in existence along the way, it has finally come to a boiling point, spewing up and over any barriers of self-consciousness that can easily inhibit new songwriters.

The resultant spatter are songs that are melodically sophisticated, harmonically complex, and thoroughly of a unique voice all while being immediately digestible on first listen.

Howe started writing in the Fall of 2008 and by the end of the year had a large catalog of songs. Through the year and a half long process (beginning in 2009) of trying to assemble and solidify a band, Howe met multi-instrumentalist, Josh Misner and the two discovered a synergy between them for arranging and fleshing out her ideas. Along with bassist, Jesse Reimer, the three of them released their debut, self-titled EP in the Summer of 2011 calling themselves, “Nicole and the Avalanche”.
